Popularly known as Sahijan and Moringa, Shigru is a beautiful tree of medium size (usually 30 ft). Its leaves are long with elliptic leaflets. Its leaves, bark, fruits, and seeds are used for

• Nutritional disorders: Shigru leaves have been reported to possess significant quantities of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, and vitamins. It is thus useful as an excellent nutrient in nutritional disorders.

• Pain, Fever, & Inflammation: Shigru root has been reported to possess significant activities to alleviate pain, lower raised body temperature in fever, and alleviate inflammation. It is thus quite effective in the management of various painful, febrile, and inflammatory disorders.

• Asthma: Shigru seeds have been reported to possess significant antyi-asthmatic activity, making them useful in the management of bronchial asthma.
