• Anti-allergic – Shati is one of the most effective anti-allergic drugs. It acts by preventing the release of histamine, bradykinin, cytokines, leukotrienes and other inflammatory mediators from the mast cells and basophils. It is useful in the management of all types of allergic disorders – nasal allergy, bronchial allergy, skin allergy, food allergy, drug allergy.

• Useful in acid peptic diseases– Shati is one of the most effective antacid drugs. It acts by lowering the production of excessive gastric acid. It stimulates the peristaltic movements of the stomach and expedites its emptying. It is quite useful in the management of various acid peptic diseases – gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, GERD, hyperacidity, etc.

• Stops nausea and vomiting – Shati is one of the most effective anti-emetic drugs useful for the management of nausea, vomiting, and GERD. It acts by promoting the peristaltic (downward) movement of the stomach.

• Anti-asthmatic – Shati is one of the effective drugs in asthma. It acts by dilating the constricted bronchi, reducing inflammation in the bronchi and bronchioles; and, promoting expectoration of excessive mucus in the bronchial tree. It is used in the management of bronchial asthma, bronchitis, and COPD.

• Mild Laxative – Shati reinforces the intestinal peristalsis. It is thus used in the management of chronic constipation. It has to be given for a long duration.

• Anti-inflammatory – Shati attenuates the inflammatory mediators - cytokines, and leukotrienes and thus alleviates inflammation. It is useful in the inflammatory disorders – gastritis, colitis, proctitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, otitis media, pneumonia, proctitis, etc.
