Gokshura is an excellent diuretic of ayurveda. However, it has got many other actions that are quite useful in the treatment of various diseases.

• URINARY DISEASES: • Kidney failure - Gokshura is useful in the management of kidney failure as it improves renal health, protects the kidneys against various toxins, and enhances the production of urine. It thus alleviates the renal edema and lowers raised urea and creatinine in the blood. • UTI - Gokshura is useful in urinary infection as it makes the urine alkaline and increases the urine production. • Urinary stones - Gokshura is useful in the drug management of urinary stones because it helps in breaking and dissolving the stones by its lithontryptic action and expelling them by its diuretic action.

• CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES: • CAD - Gokshura is useful in the management of angina and old myocardial infarction as it dilates the coronary arteries by enhancing the production of nitric oxide (NO) by the coronary endothelium. • Hypertension - Gokshura is useful in the management of high blood pressure as it lowers raised blood pressure by its direct vasodilator action, as well as, its diuretic action. • Heart Failure - Gokshura is useful in the management of heart failure as it improves the myocardial health, as well as, increases the production of urine.

• MALE REPRODUCTIVE DISEASES • Low sperm count - Gokshura is useful in the management of low sperm count as it enhances the production of testosterone. • Erectile dysfunction - Gokshura is useful in erectile dysfunction (ED) as it dilates the penile arteries and its branches by enhancing the production of nitric oxide (NO) and improves the production of testosterone.

• NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC DISEASES: • Anxiety & Depression: Gokshura is useful in anxiety and depression as it improves the health of brain cells by improving cerebral blood flow. • Neuro-degenerative diseases: Gokshura is useful in neuropathies, nerve degeneration, dementia etc. due to its regenerative action.
