Chandan is quite useful in the management of a large number of diseases. However, we primarily recommend the use of Chandan in the management of cancer, H. pylori infection of

• 1. Cancer (कैंसर): Scientific research has shown that Chandan slows down the growth and multiplication of cancer cells due to the presence of two Bioactive compounds - alpha santalol and beta santalol. In addition, Chandan promotes the early death of cancer cells by reinforcing a process of natural death - Apotosis. So far, experimental studies have been carried out in breast cancer, skin cancer, and blood cancer (Leukemia). On this basis, Chandan could be used as a supportive drug in the Anti-cancer Therapy.

• 2. H. pylori infection in the Stomach (आमाशयगत ऍच. पाइलोरी संक्रमण): Experimental studies show that in addition to many other pathogenic bacteria, alpha and beta santalol are quite effective in inhibiting the growth and multiplication of Helicobacter pylori that produces symptoms like acid peptic diseases (APD). On the basis of this finding, Chandan should be widely used among patients suffering from peptic ulcer due H. pylori infection.

• 3. Urinary Tract Infection - UTI (मूत्रमार्गीय संक्रमण): Research studies reveal that alpha and beta santalol effectively inhibit the growth and multiplication of bacteria that result in urinary infection, especially those resistant to antibiotics. These include - E. coli and many other Gram -ve and anaerobic bacteria. On the basis of these observations, Chandan should be used among patients suffering from urinary infection, especially those resulting from drug-resistant bacteria.

  Dosage:

  The standard dose of Chandan Ghan Tablet is 1-2 tablets, 3-6 times a day. On improvement, taper off the dose to the minimum level required.
