Widely used in angina and asthma.

• Improves blood in ischemic areas – Pushkarmula has been reported to improve blood flow in ischemic areas in the heart and other organs, primarily due to its vasodilator activity. In addition, it lowers the rate and force of contraction of the heart like beta blockers. It is thus used in the management of ischemic disorders, like – CAD - angina, stroke, TIA, renal ischemia, limb ischemia, intestinal ischemia, gangrene and avascular necrosis (AVN).

• Useful in arrhythmias – Pushkarmula has been reported to lower heart rate. It is thus used in the management of tachycardias (eg, PSVT) and atrial fibrillation.

• Asthma – Pushkarmula has been reported to dilate the constricted bronchi, reduce inflammation in the bronchi and bronchioles and, reinforce expectoration of mucus. It is used in the management of bronchial asthma, bronchitis, and COPD.
